I am an adult and children’s book author, who freelances as a writer, editor, instructor, researcher, and multimedia consultant. In 2008, I earned a Master of Fine Arts in Writing (adult fiction) (Spalding U., Louisville, KY). While there, I served as Editor for The Louisville Review. Along with a B.A. (Rutgers U.) and M.A. in Anthropology (Binghamton U.), I am a graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature. In December 2015, my first children’s picture book was published, Around the World from A to Z, at Tandem Light Press (Atlanta). Prior to that, I was a Vermont Arts Council featured artist and also worked as the Council’s catalog Editor for its Art of Action Project. My published writing includes fiction, creative non-fiction, literary criticism, journalism, poetry, biography, and photography, having appeared in Altarwork, The Burlington Free Press, Public Republic, Tecumseh Herald, The Times Ink!, The Hinesburg Record, Vermont Catholic Tribune, and League Lines. A sample of my published writing can be viewed at Altarwork, an online literary magazine. Professionally, I was a member of the League of Vermont Writers for over 20 years (having served twice on its Board of Directors), Phi Beta Kappa, SCBWI, and a former member of AWP.

Currently, I am querying literary agents for a historical novel, set in 1856, post-Famine Ireland. I’m also in the midst of writing a young-adult novel, involving time-travel and historical elements (set in Vermont). Other writing projects include:  a writing-craft book, a WWII adult novel (set in France), and a collection of linked short stories.
